SUPERSUB FLASHBACK TO PAUL WELLER
Supersub played the Marlboro Flashback Tour in October 1998. The band did a flashback to Paul Weller and Jam songs in 8 venues throughout the Netherlands. Even a Style Council song included the sets. Marc: "The Music of Paul Weller and The Jam is very close to Supersub's repertoire. We make popmusic in the British sixties tradition. We've tried to approach The Jam when it comes to sound, arrangements and even clothing as much as possible. We've got the same equipment as Paul Weller, same guitars, same amplifiers, everything. We even had original Jam-suits made". We can tell you that they sounded spectacular (with organ and Jac Bico as guest-guitarist). Highlights in the tour were the Utrecht show (sold out and great performance) and the grand finale in Paradiso, Amsterdam. A coverage of the Rotterdam show was mixed by the band and broadcast by Veronica Television on December 10th 1998 and rebroadcast on August 11th.
Listen to a real audio clip of Supersub performing 'Peacock Suit'. An interview on the tour can be found in the press section (in Dutch). |
